Chapter-first learning roadmap · CPH × CSES

Read the theory. Implement it. Clear every problem.

The original 30-chapter Competitive Programmer’s Handbook is the reading order. Each CSES task appears exactly once at the earliest conservative prerequisite checkpoint—or in the clearly separated beyond-CPH section. Original CSES category is retained for reference.

How to use: Finish chapter N; attempt that chapter’s newly unlocked tasks while continuing your reading. Keep earlier chapters open as your backlog. Tick Implemented when your own VS Code solution is saved and Accepted only after CSES accepts it. A chapter indicates necessary core theory, not that every contest insight is provided verbatim in the book. Anything depending on a clearly unintroduced algorithm is kept in Further study beyond CPH, not silently forced into a book chapter.

Coverage is frozen to the 400 tasks listed on the official CSES Problem Set on 21 September 2026. If CSES adds tasks, the roster must be updated. Links are resolved by matching all 400 titles against a public CSES title/ID index, then constructed as https://cses.fi/problemset/task/ID/; its completeness is checked on load. Your checkboxes are saved in this browser only (not synchronized with your CSES account). Link-index data source.
